IN-RC 8 elevated edge light

An LED edge light for 6.6 A series circuits that draws a third of the power of halogen and keeps its photometry for more than 100,000 hours.

Light source
LED, 3000 K
Power
12 W at 6.6 A
Protection
IP68
Height
360 mm, frangible
ICAO Annex 14FAA L-862EASA CS-ADR

Typical lead time 6 to 8 weeks. Factory acceptance tests can be witnessed in Fambach.

Overview

Designed for new builds and drop-in replacement of halogen fittings on the same base.

The IN-RC 8 replaces halogen edge lights one for one. It fits existing 8 inch bases and isolating transformers, and its constant-current driver follows all five brightness steps of the regulator without flicker.

The optical head is sealed and nitrogen purged, so condensation never clouds the prism. A frangible coupling breaks cleanly at 1,500 Nm if an aircraft leaves the runway.

One third of the power

12 W instead of 45 W halogen, at the same intensity.

100,000 hour LEDs

Photometry stays inside the ICAO limits for over a decade.

Five-step dimming

Follows regulator steps B1 to B5 without flicker.

Frangible by design

Breaks cleanly at 1,500 Nm to protect aircraft.

On the airfield

The IN-RC 8 lines both edges of the runway every 60 m between the thresholds, on the same 6.6 A circuit as the threshold and runway end lights.
